A very special project which was fun to realize as well as a form of social critique of a time where the place often reserved to women was reduced to a second level: serving ‘her’ man.
Thanks to this wonderful team
- Jacynthe Delisle – makeup
- Mélissa Roussel – Model
The goal was to show a young woman, in love and ready to do anything to please her husband. A woman following the norm in a semi-fictive era where ehe had to serve and please the man of the house. However, there is no instruction book on how to become the perfect maid (even though in reality there were some books in a NON-fictive past trying to describe this model). So, our young lady, in all her sweet and young naivety, and with all her sparks of love, will do her best to accomplish the meaningful task.
She starts early in the morning so to have enough time and will spend the entire day in preparing for this perfect night … for him.
The photo sequence is a caricatural view on a model viewed as ‘normal’ in a certain era. Many depictions were intentionally exaggerated to keep and emphasize the humour aspect of the project while keeping its satire and critique on a era where many women could not define themselves though any other way than their household role, a family service and most importantly to the house master, the man. Even if many women were in fact managing the household more than many men. 😉 .
Hence, here is the funny adventures of the perfect little housewife … The Wifey 🙂
